It's great up North! First stop, Red Road Radio

Junior Star Singer Songwriter kicked off its Northern England radio tour in Rotherham on Friday 10th August.  Stars from the competition travelled up the country to Red Road Radio to meet the manager of the radio station, Trevor Grossett, for a fun-packed show. Trevor himself is a record producer and has worked with stars such as Take That in their earlier days.  He loves Junior Star Singer Songwriter and welcomed all the stars as soon as they arrived from their three-hour road  trip!

Here is one of our contestants this year Marcus Bagley-Hodkin who sang in Rotherham at Red Road Radio.

Check out the great similarity to Gary Barlow.  His mum is a big fan of Gary's and Marcus has been influenced by the greats like Gary and Elton John over the years. Marcus has also entered JSS Europe so look out for him in our next show on Brooklands Radio very soon.  A very enthusiastic singer, Marcus also has acting experience and loves performing. You can check out his Behind the Mic interview with our junior presenter, Kasey Wray, here.

Guests in Sheffield were Teide Bryce, Georgia Lois, Scott Thornhill and last year's winner, Chloe Dunne, plus 2016's winner, Kasey Wray, who is from Sheffield herself.  Kasey sat with presenters Rachael Summers and Amanda Neale for the whole show to talk about the talent from the north of the country.

Kasey has recently been presenting JSS Extra which helps to search for new talent for the competition.  Look for Kasey's website which will be up very soon so that you can listen to her tracks and connect to Kasey on social media.
